Ambulance

Basic Life Support (BLS) emergency medical care is the primary service provided.  The service is accomplished by means of a trained staff of PA Department of Health certified Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics.  A Department of Health certified BLS ambulance is the primary vehicle used in delivery of service.  A heavy rescue vehicle and a quick response vehicle (QRV) are also Department of Health certified as quick response service (QRS) units. These QRS units supplement the service when the ambulance is not available.  Modern EMS equipment has also been a staple of the Blakely Ambulance and provides for the best service to the residents of Blakely Borough.

Rescue

Rescue service was added soon after the inception of the organization.  Numerous members are certified to the Technician level in vehicle rescue by the Department of Health.  Specialty vehicle rescue is the main focus of the service other disciplines of rescue are provided at the operations level.  A state of the art heavy rescue truck is the main vehicle for the service.  The QRV and a tactical support vehicle supports the main rescue vehicle.  An off road utility vehicle is maintained for wilderness rescues.

Special Operations

The offering of special operations services have developed throughout the years and include:  hazard materials control, mass casualty response, rehab, accountability support, lighting, bariatric emergencies, extreme weather emergency response, evacuation operations, aero-medical support, fire-ground medical operations, special event medical staffing, wilderness search and medical evacuation.  In addition to the vehicles listed above a MCI trailer supports the MCI response.
